Studio in a School was founded in 1977 on the belief that all children deserve to reap the widely recognized benefits of a quality visual arts education. Studio’s Artist Instructors nurture students’ abilities to learn, imagine, observe, and express themselves creatively, while our emphasis on professional development and best practices builds the capacity of educators and strengthens the arts education field. Our misson is realized through Studio NYC, which engages over 30,000 students in all five boroughs each year, primarily in NYC's highest need communities; and through the Studio Institute, which performs research, develops curriculum, and disseminates these efforts in NYC and nationally.
With your support, Studio provides access to the visual arts for students of all ages who otherwise would not have these opportunities, such as discovering paint in Pre-K, creating digital animations in elementary school, exploring architecture in middle school, drawing from life in high school, and interning with a museum in college. Thank you for making these - and so many other - learning experiences possible.
