Gatewave is an Internet/radio reading service, run by volunteers, dedicated to providing alternatives to reading for those who are visually or physically disabled.
Its content is heard over special radios in the New York City area and rebroadcast by a dozen affiliated reading services in the Northeast, Midwest, and South.
The service is also available by internet, mobile phone app, and NFB Newsline, providing access to the daily reading of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, as well as a host of weekly and monthly magazines. We also provide announcements and programs specifically for those with visual impairments and other disabilities. Our readings are produced by trained spoken word artists.
