Homeless people won some incredible victories in 2016. By coming together and fighting collectively, the members of Picture the Homeless are building a movement to transform our city.
But now, we find ourselves at a moment of transition that is both frightening and exciting. The exciting part: after seventeen years, our Executive Director is transitioning out of that role, and a team of PTH members, staff, and allies is hard at work finding a new director who is every bit as brave, bold, dynamic, and innovative as the organization itself. We’re confident that with new leadership will come new ideas, new energy, and new victories. The frightening part: a new President will be taking office in January, who rose to power on a vicious campaign of racism and misogyny and xenophobia.
At this transformative moment, we cannot afford to miss a beat. We are asking you to give more generously than ever before. Homeless folks need access to the tools necessary to fight for housing and civil rights against a rising tide of hate that would deny them their very humanity.
