NYLaughs, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that is changing the cultural landscape of the Big Apple.

We are a unique performing arts organization that offers free, live comedic performances in unexpected public spaces. We believe that laughter is a unifying experience, and by creating opportunities for shared humor we build bridges and connect people. What started in 2007 as a one-woman stand-up comedy performance in NY subway stations has grown into the media-darling “Laughter in the Park” series, which has entertained thousands of New Yorkers in public spaces across the city.

Our shows offer New Yorkers of all races, ages, genders, physical abilities, and socioeconomic levels an opportunity – for a few hours – to forget about their problems and their differences and laugh together until they cry.  During the past decade we’ve presented over 75 shows, hired nearly 300 professional artists, worked collaboratively with other non-profits, produced shows at the Brooklyn Museum and NY Public Library and entertained some 24,000 New Yorkers. For many, “Laughter in the Park” is the first live comedy performance they’ve ever experienced, and audience members have thanked our performers for improving their day, reinvigorating their spirit, and opening their eyes to this art form.

NY Laughs has been featured and a critic’s pick in the NYTimes, The Wall Street Journal, NY Magazine, NY1, TimeOut NY, WNBC, WABC, Gothamist and more!   You can check us out at nylaughs.org, laughterinthepark.org and laughterinthecity.org.

NY Laughs truly believes that laughter can change the world, and is working hard to make it a part of the daily urban experience in NYC. “Laughter in the Park” is always free to attend, and always presented in heavily populated, centrally located, easily-accessible public spaces in order to reach all New Yorkers through humor. We’re looking to increase our funding, so that we can add more shows and more venues in order to impact more people in the coming seasons. PLEASE HELP US … DONATE NOW!
