The Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights is a non-profit organization, founded in 1982 to educate, defend and protect the rights of immigrants. Through a service and organizing model, NMCIR works to bring about social justice to the immigrant community of Northern Manhattan and the Bronx. Recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals, NMCIR is committed to expanding access to legal immigration services, and participating in policy making and community organizing efforts.
NMCIR provides the non-citizen immigrant community of New York City direct legal services ranging from assisting applicants with citizenship, residency and family-based petitions to detention and deportation issues. NMCIR is a leader in the immigrant right's movement, organizing, educating and developing local leadership to bring the immigrant voice to a national and international level.
