Our mission is to provide technology training, work readiness skills and educational support services for youth and adults to enhance workforce skills.

NDI is best known for its community development activities. 1n 1995, NDI received its first grant through Family Services, Inc. to provide computer training and information technology for low-income residents of the City of Poughkeepsie. While NDI continues to provide ongoing basic to advanced computer training, we have added programs for young adults. Working collaboratively with Dutchess Community College, NDI operates YouthBuild and AmeriCorps programs. These programs provide GED prep and certification training in housing construction, healthcare, and technology for eligible young adults between the ages of 16 and 24. YouthBuild/AmeriCorps trainees rehabilitate low-income rental housing in the neighborhoods where they live.

We have also expanded services into Beacon NY. We operate the Beacon Community Resource Center in collaboration with local non-profit and faith-based organizations.
