The Alexandre Foundation (AF) creates programs and promotes services to assist those with disabilities and those who suffer from chronic health conditions. Many of those helped have limited resources and are not able to live independently, nor do they have the means to remain in the community.
The organization cares for these individuals by offering support groups and various programs to promote wellness.
AF operates an elder/caring program which provides individuals with debilitating disorders and their caregivers with expert advice, social and emotional support as well as basic information and referrals to local physicians and healthcare professionals. This program also distributes donated equipment and coordinates volunteers who provide temporary relief to ease the burden carried by caregivers.
Alexandre Foundation also has other programs which focus on immigration issues, micro-enterprises, employment opportunities and emergency services. The organization works to address community concerns such as the rights of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people affected by poverty and neglect.
To promote economic success in their communities, the organization supports small business initiatives and entrepreneurs, and encourages civic engagement.
