Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts provides artistically gifted young people with rigorous conservatory-style training in the visual arts, vocal and instrumental music, dance and drama, along with a comprehensive academic, college preparatory program. Founded more than fifty years ago, LaGuardia achieved its present form in 1984 when its two divisions, The School of Performing Arts and The High School of Music and Art, were consolidated in a state-of-the-art building in Lincoln Center which includes a world class theatre, concert hall, dance and art studios, and academic facilities. LaGuardia's conservatory-style program steeps the students in the literature and culture of the arts, resulting in uniquely accomplished and educated students, well prepared for the professional and university worlds.
