TastebudsNYC Presents a Cook-off Fundraiser For Hot Bread Kitchen

TastebudsNYC Presents
A Cook-off Fundraiser
For Hot Bread Kitchen

Please join TastebudsNYC  for an exciting cook-off fundraiser in support of Hot Bread Kitchen on Sunday, April 11, from 4 - 7 PM at Jimmy's No. 43 . Hot Bread Kitchen is an amazing non-profit, social enterprise that enhances the future for immigrant women and preserves baking traditions.

Chefs from Blue Hill, located in New York City, as well as foodies from around the five boroughs, will be making dishes to accompany Hot Bread Kitchen's Organic Non-GMO Corn Tortillas or their wonderful Nutty Granola.  Cook-off chefs will go head to head to compete for bragging rights and a great cause.  Judges include Nick Suarez and Theo Peck from The Food Experiments, Alexis Powell Grossman from Crop to Cup and Katrina Schultz Richter from Hot Bread Kitchen.

To date, Hot Bread Kitchen, a 2009 Neighborhood Achievement Award winner, has provided 10 immigrant women with paid job training and English classes. Breads are made with locally grown and organic ingredients whenever possible using traditional recipes from around the world.

We hope you’ll join us for this special event!

Who We Are:
TastebudsNYC is a community for those who work in the food biz and those who just love food.  Whether you work behind the scenes on food security issues, toil at the sauce station, are planning the next Farm to Table or regularly use "grassy" to describe your favorite cheese, this is an opportunity to expand your network and community.

What We Do:
Join us the second Wednesday of every month at a local bar or venue for networking and socializing while sharing drinks and commiserating over the lack of good taco joints, debating foie gras ban or planning the next Farm Bill.  TastebudsNYC will occasionally have experts in the various fields of food to share some nuggets of wisdom. Past special guests include Rick Field from Rick’s Picks, Kerry Trueman from Eating Liberally or representatives from New Amsterdam Market.  Be sure to check back often so you don't miss your favorites!

Can't make it Wednesday?  TastebudsNYC also hosts special food-related events outside of the monthly happy hours.  Sign up for our mailing list to stay updated on the latest events. Past events have included a trip to the Fulton Fish Market, a Brooklyn Greenmarket Bike Tour and a beer and cheese tasting by Chris Munsey, formerly of Murray’s Cheese and cheeses from Saxelby Cheesemongers. All upcoming events will also be posted on our website: www.tastebudsnyc.com
