Cafeteria Culture (CafCu), founded as Styrofoam Out of Schools, is working to eliminate school cafeteria landfill and incinerator bound garbage, from food to packaging. We cultivate sustainable design and replicable models to promote eco-literacy and healthy communities. Our first priority is to entirely eliminate toxic and polluting polystyrene (Styrofoam) disposable lunch trays from NYC public school cafeterias. We work collaboratively at all levels, building trusting relationships within school communities and government, piloting and assisting in the implementation of innovative waste reduction curriculum and solutions.
