Founded in 1974, the New York Chinese Cultural Center is a performing arts and educational organization that promotes the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture by preserving traditional genres and nurturing innovations that reflect our dynamic and diverse cultural heritage. Through our School of the Arts, the country’s earliest professional school of Chinese dance, and Dance China NY, our resident professional dance company, the Center annually presents over 3,000 classes and 1,000 performances, lectures, and workshops in theaters, community venues, libraries, parks, and schools, reaching 125,000 people all around the country. Our mission is to inspire and educate through Chinese cultural arts, to help create a world where Chinese culture is celebrated.
