Manhattan Youth Recreation and Resources Downtown Community Center 120 Warren Street New York, NY 10007 http://www.manhattanyouth.orgThanks to you, our brand-new Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center is fabulous! But Lower Manhattan still needs our help!
We are well into our second year in our new Downtown Community Center and we are serving more families, children, teens, seniors and adults than ever before! But we still need to focus on helping an increasing number of families and children in our community who are coping with job losses and other stresses in the ongoing recession.
In addition to helping those who are still experiencing economic dislocations, Manhattan Youth remains committed to providing free services to some of our most vulnerable community members. Our free Senior and Teen programs still cost more than $200,000 per year. Our after-school childcare scholarship and assistance to families has grown by 12 percent so far this year, and will cost well over $250,000. In our 23 years, we have never turned away a child because of a family’s inability to pay.
We know that the coming months will be a challenge for many of us and we want to ensure that Manhattan Youth will be there to help our neighbors and our community.
Please consider helping with your gift now.
Whatever dollar amount your gift may be, it is extremely valuable to us and to the children, families, teens, seniors and adults we serve.

The mission of Manhattan Youth Recreation and Resources, Inc. is “to provide the highest quality childcare and after-school programs as well as academic, recreational, and cultural activities to individuals and families who live or work in Lower Manhattan, regardless of their income.”
Founded in 1986 to serve families needing childcare and recreational services, we have grown along with the increasing needs of our community. Primarily serving Tribeca, Battery Park City, South Street Seaport and Financial District neighborhoods, we offer after-school programs in all area elementary and middle schools, our full-day summertime Downtown Day Camp, and more than 2,000 families each year. Our new Downtown Community Center, opened in June, 2008, is enabling us more fully to meet the increasing needs of our community. |
