The Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE/USA) carries out a wide range of policy-oriented exchange and dialogue programs that aim to strengthen relations between Japan, the United States, and the rest of Asia and make the world a better and more secure place for all people. It promotes exchange between political leaders, fosters dialogue between policymakers and experts on cutting edge international issues, and works to strengthen the role of civil society and philanthropy in Japan and throughout the Asia Pacific region. Founded in 1975, JCIE/USA is the North American counterpart of the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE/Japan), one of the few independent and nonpartisan nongovernmental organizations in the field of international affairs in Japan.
