Dance New Amsterdam’s (DNA) mission is to provide a dynamic environment supporting contemporary dance education, creation and performance and promote to its advancement through an integrated approach that gives the dancer a complete experience. DNA supports the individual dancer with classes, workshops and with performance and gallery exhibit opportunities; fosters the creation and development of new works through commissions, residencies and subsidized space; produces and presents emerging and established artists and supports career growth through subsidized administrative space and staff expertise; and builds participation in and appreciation of dance artistry through audience engagement and interaction by reaching out into the National and International arts communities and engaging artists with diverse styles, techniques, cultures, and experience.
